Homegrown “liturgical rock.” Some of our in-house musicians have written fantastic Ozark liturgies, and friends of the congregation have provided “heartland” music that offers just the right mix of organically produced, indie-influenced songs of praise. Our worship band is an eclectic group, including musicians from many generations. Worship includes weekly communion and a children’s message.
From January 13 through February 17, Pastor Clint will offer a sermon series on the Book of Esther. Esther deepens our empathy with foreigners of all types, offering a story of how to maintain religious identity when living in foreign territory. Although Esther is especially about the maintenance of Jewish identity (it is the text read in synagogues everywhere for the holiday of Purim), it can help anyone who feels like they live in a strange land to detect the hidden presence of God and maintain brave and enduring practices to address community needs. And it does so through irony and life-giving humor.
