Liturgy

GSLC follows a fixed order of worship that includes the Gathering, Communion, Readings (the Revised Common Lectionary), a sermon, and a Sending.

Music

The GSLC Band and Organist Dr. Robert Mueller (Professor of Music Theory/Composition, Orchestra at the University of Arkansas) accompany songs, sung liturgy, and hymns. The GSLC Choir performs weekly.

Practices

LGBTQIA+ folks often lead worship.

Kids help serve Communion (gulten-free bread and juice) and may attend Children's Church afterward.

Get Involved

Worship volunteer roles include acolyte, altar guild, lector/petitioner, and usher. Learn more about each here.

GSLC musical ensembles welcoming new members rehearse as follows:

  • Bells: Wednesdays at 6 p.m.

  • Choir: Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.

In Fall 2024, GSLC restructured its order of worship. The congregation shares communion before the day’s lessons and sermon, after which those assembled have small group discussions to meet one another and process the lessons and sermon. Anyone uncomfortable with discussion may use the time to meditate, journal, or excuse themselves to the sensory room. Because life is hard and many arrive at worship hurting, the service concludes with optional laying on of hands, anointing, and healing prayer.
