Taking Faith to the Next LevelGood Shepherd Lutheran Church

All classes are held at Good Shepherd unless otherwise noted.

The catechumenate is our annual rite of Christian initiation for newcomers to Good Shepherd.

2nd Sunday @ 6pm, Fall and Winter
We provide a safe space for you to ask questions and explore mysteries of faith. We share a meal. Pastor Clint presents on a variety of topics, from ELCA history to Good Shepherd’s core values. We then end with Bible study.

Sundays @ 6pm during Lent
During the Lenten season, we meet weekly to prepare anyone who wishes to join Good Shepherd or be baptized at the Easter Vigil. We share a meal and discuss the meaning of the weekly gospel lessons. We also offer to pair you up with a buddy.

Campus Bible Study
Tuesdays @12:30pm, St. Martin’s Episcopal Campus Center, 814 W. Maple
We study the weekly lectionary texts with University of Arkansas undergrads, grads, and faculty.

Jesus is Calling
Wednesdays, 5:30–6:30pm
Social justice-focused Bible study, lectio divina style, followed by time for calling public officials to urge them to take action on pressing moral issues. Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling, calling for you and for me!

Sundays, 4:45–6 pm, childcare provided
A survey of the Bible, focusing on understanding the Bible in the context in which it was written, as well as our present time. Group commitment is critical, because after 24 weeks together we help each other with spiritual gift discernment.

Education for Ministry (EfM) helps you encounter the breadth and depth of Christian tradition as you study and engage in theological reflection together. There’s homework, but it’s a lot of fun!  Learn more
